32-Year Old New Rochelle Man Charged with Statutory Rape Makes Discovery Requests

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Yonsin Macario Cordon (aka Johnson Macario-Cordon, aka Macario G. Yonsin, aka Yonsin Giovany Macario Cordon, aka Johnson Macario) was back in court Friday before Judge Susan I. Kettner facing an allegation of Statutory Rape.

Macario Cordon is being represented by the Legal Aid Society. Although he speaks English, he requested and was provided a Spanish-language interpreter.

His attorney requested additional discovery in the case. The Assistant District Attorney acknowledged the people may have additional discovery. Macario Cordon’s attorney requested police reports, police memo books with notes, video, 911 calls photos taken during the investigation, complainant’s hospital records, and police radio runs.

Judge Kettner scheduled follow up on the discovery request for November 20th.

Macario Cordon was arrested July 31 following a month long investigation by New Rochelle Police Detectives after report was made of a possible sexual assault at a private residence on Ashland Street on July 3rd at 10:35 p.m.

Macario Cordon was arraigned in New Rochelle City Court on July 31. Bail was set at $250,000 cash or bond. Macario Cordon has since posted bail and was released.

Rape in the Third Degree is charged when a person engaged in sexual intercourse with someone who is incapable of consent either due to age or intoxication. If an individual is at least 21 years old and has sex with a person younger than 17 that person has committed Rape in the Third Degree.

Macario Cordon goes by several names according to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office
