Yonkers Arrest Warrant Leads to New Rochelle Gun Bust of South Carolina Man

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Jamaal Solaam Anderson, aged 39 of Eutawville, South Carolina, was arrested last night by New Rochelle Police and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon Second Degree-Loaded Firearm; Unlawful Possession Certain Ammunition Feeding Devices.

The New Rochelle Police Department received information at approximately 7:47 p.m. that an individual with an active arrest warrant was entering a vehicle at North Avenue and Lockwood Avenue.

New Rochelle Police Officers stopped the vehicle in the vicinity of 270 North Avenue.

Officers confirmed the driver, Jamaal Solaam Anderson, had an active warrant out of Yonkers for Harassment.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a loaded Glock .40 caliber handgun with an additional loaded magazine and thirty loose rounds.
