YONKERS, NY (February 17, 2023) — The woman accused of stabbing a pregnant woman in New Rochelle last November had dual appearances this week in Yonkers City Court on Tuesday and New Rochelle City Court on Thursday. She is scheduled for the same next week.
Sanchez has a Felony Hearing in Yonkers City Court on February 22 and an SCI Update in New Rochelle City Court on February 23.
Naisanagelly Sanchez, 19, is currently incarcerated at the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla. According to police and court records she has previously lived in Albany, Mount Vernon and Yonkers.
Her Legal Aid attorney and representatives from Choice, a non-profit mental health advocacy agency organization based in Westchester County, are seeking to arrange housing for Sanchez at a shelter in White Plains and get her released to home confinement with an ankle monitor as soon as next week.
On June 24, 2022, Naisanagelly Sanchez was arrested by Yonkers Police following a domestic violence incident. Police say she attacked her mother. She was charged with Assault – 2nd, a class D felony, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, a class A misdemeanor, Criminal Mischief – 4th, a class A misdemeanor and Harassment – 2nd (Physical Contact), a violation.
According to a Yonkers Police report, Naisanagelly Sanchez was involved in a domestic dispute on that day.
According to her mother, a verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation involving the mother’s boyfriend and both her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend. When the mother attempted to call the police, her daughter, Naisanagelly Sanchez, took the mother’s cell phone from her hand and threw it on the ground. As the mother tried to separate the two boyfriends, her daughter grabbed her mother by the hair, dragged her to the floor and began punching her in the face while screaming “that’s what you get..” Naisangelly Sanchez allegedly bit her mother several times.
Naisanagelly Sanchez’s boyfriend continually assaulted the mother’s boyfriend then fled the scene before police arrived on scene.
Due to the severity of their injuries, both the mother and her boyfriend were transported to Westchester Medical Center for further Medical Evaluation.
The parties had been consuming alcohol that evening in the mother’s residence when violence broke out.
On August 27, 2022 Naisanagelly Sanchez was arrested by Albany Police. She was charged with Criminal Mischief – 3rd. We have submitted a Freedom of Information Law request to the City of Albany seeking related Albany PD arrest records.
On November 29th, 2022, Naisanagelly Sanchez was arrested following a domestic dispute in New Rochelle and charged with Assault — 2nd, a D Felony. New Rochelle Police say she stabbed stabbing a pregnant woman in an apartment within a multi-family dwelling at 26 Lafayette Street in the City’s West End. The victim had two stab wounds that required stitches in the abdomen area. The baby was not injured.

Sanchez has signed a Grand Jury waiver. The multiple dockets in Yonkers and New Rochelle will be combined in Westchester County Criminal Court.
Sanchez, a light-skinned Hispanic female, has a slight build. She is about 5 feet tall and weighs about 100 pounds.
Details about Sanchez were disclosed during the New Rochelle bail hearing last fall. Her Legal Aid attorney told New Rochelle Judge Songer-McCarthy that Sanchez has a 5-year-old child who she cares for with the support of a family member. Sanchez graduated high school, was interested to attend college and has been working as a waitress at a restaurant.
After the alleged assault in Yonkers last summer, a relative took custody of Sanchez’ child,” according to police records.
