Driver Arrested for DWI After Vehicle Roll-Over in Downtown New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (May 20, 2023) — Mario Matias-Lopez was arrested by New Rochelle Police following a vehicle roll-over this afternoon in downtown New Rochelle. The vehicle involved was a yellow 2012 Toyota Scion tC.

Mario Matias-Lopez was arraigned before Hon. Jared R. Rice in New Rochelle City Court on Monday May 22. His pleaded Not Guilty and was ROR’d. He is due back in New Rochelle City Court on June 26.

Matias-Lopez was given a field sobriety test and subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. The incident occurred in front of the Huguenot 360 apartment building shortly after 4 pm. There were no injuries reported, according to New Rochelle Police.
