RYE, NY (December 8, 2025) — A Suffern man was arrested early Sunday after police say he drove an Audi Q5 with two flat tires while impaired by drugs on a busy Rye roadway.
Vyacheslav Istomin, 40, of Suffern, New York, was charged with New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law 1192.4 Driving while Impaired by Drugs, as well as multiple other Vehicle and Traffic Infractions, the City of Rye Police Department announced.
At approximately 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, Rye police received several calls from residents about an erratic driver operating an Audi Q5 on Forest Avenue in the area of the Playland Parkway.
Officers located the vehicle, initiated a traffic stop and identified Istomin as the operator and sole occupant. The Audi had two flat tires on the driver’s side, though it is unknown how the vehicle was damaged.
Police administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which Istomin failed.
