PELHAM MANOR, NY (March 24, 2026) — The Pelham Manor Board of Trustees recognized six Girl Scouts from Troops 2286 and 2617 for earning the prestigious 2025 Girl Scout Silver Award. This award is the highest honor a Girl Scout Cadette can achieve and involves a 50-hour project aimed at addressing community issues with sustainable solutions.

Celebrating Achievements

Mayor Jennifer Lapey praised the compelling service projects undertaken by the Girl Scouts, while Deputy Mayor Breda Bennett, a former Girl Scout and leader, offered her congratulations. The projects included “How to Plan a Mission Trip” by Lily Darouian and McKenna O’Hara, “Bringing Awareness to Underserved Communities” by Alice Villagomez, Annie Shannon, and Ahnika Southworth, and “Age Is Just a Number: Senior Pet Adoption” by Danielle Dodaro.

The recipients will be formally acknowledged at the Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson Silver Awards Ceremony on June 6. The event showcased the scouts alongside the Village Board, Village Manager Lindsey Luft, and Co-Service Unit Managers Gabrielle Grimaldi Belletieri and Liselle Sakhrani.
