NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (April 1, 2026) — The Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle hosted a Community Wellness Expo at the Remington Clubhouse on March 21, welcoming 350 attendees to a day focused on health awareness and services. The event, offering free admission, aimed to break barriers to care through vital screenings and education.
“This dynamic Community Wellness Expo was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when organizations come together to support the health and well-being of our community,” said Becky Mazzanobile, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle.
The Expo, presented by Westchester County and Greater Hudson Valley The Links, Inc., featured co-sponsors including Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Futures and Montefiore New Rochelle. Attendees accessed services such as vision, blood pressure, and diabetes screenings, alongside health workshops.
“Being here is exciting because it brings the community together,” said Arianna Gerald, a senior at New Rochelle High School. Laurie Collins-Thomas, President of The Greater Hudson Valley Chapter of The Links, Inc., highlighted the event’s growing impact.
State leaders praised the event’s community focus. “This is why the Boys & Girls Club is so important to our community,” said State Sen. Nathalia Fernandez. Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert noted the Club’s role as a community hub.
The Expo was part of a national initiative by The Links, Inc., with events across the U.S. and Bahamas. The Remington Clubhouse transformed into a community hub for the day, featuring music and informational booths.
Outside, the Lincoln Park Conservancy’s Grow! Eat program engaged attendees with a mobile produce truck, providing fresh produce and nutrition education. “This Expo highlights the importance of connecting people directly with fresh, healthy food,” said Linda Tarrant-Reid, Executive Director.
Additional partners included United Way and various health and community organizations, underscoring a collective commitment to health equity.
