Court Records Reveal Disturbing Nature of Rape Allegations in New Rochelle High School Area Attack Case

WHITE PLAINS, NY (May 28, 2026) — Court records reviewed by Talk of the Sound reveal for the first time that one of the felony charges filed against a New Rochelle man alleges forcible anal sexual conduct in connection with the rape and robbery of a woman near New Rochelle High School last year.

The explicit nature of the charge against Destin Medina, 20, had not previously been publicly reported by Talk of the Sound or other media outlets covering the case.

Medina is charged under New York Penal Law 130.35(3A), First-Degree Rape alleging forcible anal sexual conduct, a Class B violent felony and the top charge in the indictment.

He also faces charges of:

  • Second-Degree Robbery (aided by another person)
  • Third-Degree Rape alleging lack of consent
  • Forcible Touching
  • Second-Degree Robbery causing physical injury
  • Second-Degree Assault during the commission of a felony

Court records show that Judge Susan M. Capeci granted a motion during a May 13, 2026 appearance in Westchester County Court. The records do not specify the nature of the motion that was granted.

Medina has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Co-defendant Lonell Alexander, 22, is charged with multiple felony counts including Second-Degree Robbery and Second-Degree Assault. He also pleaded not guilty.

According to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, the alleged incident occurred Oct. 10, 2025, near New Rochelle High School.

Prosecutors allege Medina raped the victim before luring her to another location, where he, Alexander and another individual allegedly assaulted the woman and stole her purse. Authorities said the victim escaped and was aided by a good Samaritan.

District Attorney Susan Cacace previously described the allegations as exceptionally brutal.

“The assaults the victim was made to endure were amplified tenfold when she was revictimized over and over again during an unsparing, alleged attack,” Cacace said in a statement announcing the indictment. “All rape survivors have a champion in my office.

Medina was arraigned April 21, 2026, in Westchester County Court, where Judge Capeci set bail at $35,000 cash, $150,000 insured bond, or $250,000 partially secured surety bond. Court records indicate Medina subsequently posted bail. A temporary order of protection was issued for the victim.

Alexander’s arraignment was adjourned from April 21 to April 23, 2026. He also pleaded not guilty and is subject to a temporary order of protection, according to court records. His bail conditions were not reflected in records reviewed by Talk of the Sound. Westchester County records do not indicate he was remanded to jail.

Both cases are scheduled to return to court in July for determination of readiness hearings. Medina is due back before Judge Capeci on July 14, 2026. Alexander’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 16, 2026.

The New Rochelle Police Department investigated the case. Assistant District Attorney Daniela Pisahov is prosecuting.
