NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (June 10, 2026) — The City of New Rochelle has launched a new Neighborhood Association Database to streamline communication, collaboration and ties between city government and local residents.
The database serves as a centralized hub for delivering targeted updates, neighborhood-specific notifications, emergency messages, community resources and upcoming meeting details to affected areas, according to the city.
The initiative, spearheaded by the City Manager’s Office, invites all active neighborhood associations in the city to register their organizations and update contact information. It also encourages neighbors to form new associations where none exist.
“Our residents are the heart of New Rochelle, and effective communication is a two-way street. Having a direct contact with neighborhood association leaders can help improve how the City connects with each of our communities,” City Manager Will Melendez said. “This database will ensure that City staff can reach with ease the right people in a timely manner, from exciting City news, to informing about hyper-local community events or broadcasting alerts.”
Registration is voluntary but provides benefits including early awareness of local issues and time-sensitive alerts. It also helps the city better understand the structure and boundaries of neighborhood groups for more effective engagement on quality of life, public safety, planning and infrastructure matters.
To register, neighborhood associations should visit newrochelleny.gov/ourneighbors and submit the online form. Submitted information will be used solely for municipal planning, communication and civic engagement purposes, including maintaining an official directory, identifying points of contact, providing advance notice of public hearings and coordinating public safety initiatives.
Registered associations should promptly update information on changes in leadership, contact details or boundaries. They will also complete an annual verification process.
The city encourages neighborhood associations to follow its official social media accounts on Facebook at City of New Rochelle, Instagram and X at @newrochelleny.
