New Rochelle City Court Sets $100,000 Bail in DeJesus Drug, Gun Felony Case

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (June 25, 2026) — A New Rochelle man facing felony drug and weapons charges had bail set at $100,000 cash, a $250,000 insured bond or a $500,000 partially secured surety bond following a court appearance last week, according to court records.

Joel Antonio DeJesus appeared June 22 before Judge Michelle Bernstein in New Rochelle City Court, where the case was adjourned for further proceedings under the calendar section “Further Proceedings,” court records show. DeJesus remains in custody at the Westchester County jail in Valhalla.

DeJesus, 35, was arraigned June 4 on seven felony counts. The top charges are two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, an A felony alleging possession of eight ounces or more of a narcotic drug. He also faces three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree with intent to sell, a B felony; one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree for an alleged loaded firearm, a C felony; and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree for an ammunition clip, a D felony. He has pleaded not guilty to all counts, according to court records.
