WHITE PLAINS, NY (Aug. 12, 2026) — A Port Chester man was sentenced Tuesday to up to 31 years in state prison for repeatedly sexually abusing a 12-year-old child and later attempting to cover up the abuse, Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced.
Segundo Pucha-Carchi, 56, was sentenced by Judge Robert Prisco in Westchester County Court to 25 years in prison for Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, to run consecutively with an additional 2 to 6 years for Bribing a Witness, according to the District Attorney’s Office. He will also serve 20 years of post-release supervision and must register as a sex offender.
A jury convicted Pucha-Carchi on June 24 of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, Bribing a Witness, two counts of Tampering with a Witness in the Fourth Degree, and six counts of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, prosecutors said. Court records show several additional witness-tampering and criminal contempt counts, along with two counts of Acting in a Manner Injurious to a Child, were dismissed. Court records also show Pucha-Carchi was ordered to pay a mandatory surcharge, a crime victim assistance fee, a DNA fee, a sex offender registration fee and a sex offender supervision fee, totaling $1,425, due Aug. 11, 2027.
Prosecutors said that between December 2023 and October 2024, Pucha-Carchi repeatedly subjected the victim to multiple sexual acts. In December 2024, while remanded at the Westchester County Jail following his arrest, he violated an order of protection and attempted to influence the victim’s testimony through bribery, witness tampering and other means, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Cacace said the sentence sends a message that “sexual predators will be held accountable,” and credited the victim’s courage in testifying against her abuser.
The case was investigated by the Port Chester Police Department and prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Baehr and Assistant District Attorney Paige Pirtle of the Special Prosecutions Division. It was tracked under Westchester County Court index number IND-72538-25/002.
