NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (August 25, 2026) — The Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle recently hosted a Youth Justice Forum at its Remington Clubhouse, gathering youth, judicial leaders, government officials, and community advocates to discuss justice issues in New York.
The event was part of the Boys & Girls Club’s Legal Career Pathway Program, developed in partnership with the Mariano Rivera Foundation and the New York State Commission of Jurors under Commissioner Dr. Betty Campbell.
“The Youth Justice Forum demonstrates the power of creating opportunities for young people to engage directly with leaders and decision-makers,” said Becky Mazzanobile, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle.
The forum featured New York State Chief Judge Rowan D. Wilson and a panel including Judge Anne E. Minihan, Judge Maurice Dean Williams, and community leaders. Discussions focused on civic engagement and youth involvement in justice.
Associate Justice Troy K. Webber emphasized the importance of the Legal Pathways program, saying it opens doors to leadership and civic participation for young people.
A highlight was Michael Rosario, a program participant, who co-moderated discussions with Justice Mary Lynn Nicolas-Brewster, showcasing the program’s impact on youth leadership and communication skills.
Participants, like Victoria P., engaged in discussions on advocacy and equity, with Victoria stating, “I felt the session was informative and I learned a lot about things I never really thought about as a young lady.”
The Legal Career Pathway Program offers exposure to legal careers, strengthening workforce readiness and leadership development, vital for future careers in civil service and public administration.
For 96 years, the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle has been a community pillar, offering programs that support academic achievement and personal development.
