Pelham Manor Hosts 250th Anniversary Reenactment of Battle of Pell’s Point

PELHAM MANOR, NY (September 30, 2026) — A reenactment of the 1776 Battle of Pell’s Point, marking its 250th anniversary, will be held at Orchard Beach in Pelham Bay Park on October 18. The event is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The reenactment will commence at 10:00 a.m. with the tall ship Lynx firing its cannon in the waters off Orchard Beach. British troops will arrive dramatically on the sand via smaller boats, confronting the Patriot forces led by Colonel John Glover and several Massachusetts regiments, including the Marblehead Mariners.

Spectators will witness a fully narrated reenactment of the historic battle, enjoy fife and drum performances, and watch military drills and maneuvers. Historical figures such as George Washington, British General Howe, Colonel Glover, and a member of the Marblehead Mariners will be featured.

The event is organized by Pelham Public Schools, Town of Pelham, Revolutionary Westchester 250, the Bronx County Historical Society, the Kingsbridge Historical Society, SUNY Maritime College, St. Paul’s Church National Historic Site, and From The Bronx.
