Large Group of Teens Descend on Downtown New Rochelle, 1 Arrest Made at Memorial Plaza

New Rochelle police responding to reports of a large, unruly group of people walking down Center Avenue, found the group and followed them into the downtown area. Police estimated the group to be 40-50 people, youths, possibly students from Isaac E. Young Middle School.

The group ended up at Memorial Plaza where a fight broke out involving half a dozen or more of the youths. One youth was placed in handcuffs, placed in the back of a police car and taken away.

    The author should not make assumptions as to where the people involved in this indicent are from,( possibly students from Isaac E. Young Middle School)
    When he has the facts then, and only then, should it be published.
    I do agree with an increase in police presence in downtown New Rochelle.

      I would have to agree with Brian on this one. It’s getting very uncomfortable to live in Downtown New Rochelle. It’s very rare that I see police in the area outside of out metered parking lots.
