WHITE PLAINS, NY –The lone goal in the contest between the Iona College men’s soccer team and Radford came on a penalty kick in the Gaels 1-0 loss at the Fairfield Inn By Marriott JMU Invitational. The Highlanders’ tally came in the 40th minute.
Jamie Summers knocked in his first goal of the year following an Iona foul in the penalty area.
Keeper Julian Petrello stopped the five other shots he faced. Radford’s Aitor Pouseu Blanco stopped six shots in the win.
Radford took a 12-11 shot advantage while corners were even at 6-6.
The Gaels are back in action next Saturday (Sep. 5) at the ACC’s Duke in Durham, NC.
