NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Mary Lou McIver went home to be with the Lord December 10, 2015 while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 23, 1934 in New Rochelle, New York to parents William and Elizabeth Kelly. Mary Lou was the fourth of four children; William (deceased), Betty (deceased), and Gerri (deceased).
Mary Lou was married to James McIver at Holy Name Church in New Rochelle on February 19, 1955. They began their family and were the proud parents of five children Jim Jr, Jay, Beth, Danny, and Chris. The family moved to Kingwood in 1976 when her husband Jim was transferred by Exxon.
There she attended St. Martha Catholic Church in addition to pursuing her many interests: cooking, playing cards, and rooting for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. In 1992 Jim and Mary Lou founded Kingwood Bagel where she would welcome each patron with an infectious smile for years.
Mary Lou was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Sunday evening was her favorite time as the entire family would gather for one of her famous home cooked meals and create memories to treasure.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years James McIver. She is survived by her five children; James Jr.(wife Pascale) of California, John (wife Shala) of Georgia, Beth Lyman (husband Tim) of Kingwood, Daniel (wife Sheila) of the Woodlands, Christopher (wife Marcia) of Kingwood, fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
