NEW ROCHELLE, NY — MOMSROC of the New Rochelle Youth Bureau and Nepperhan Community Center – empowerYOU celebrated 50 local mothers at their 1st Annual Community Baby Shower earlier this month at the Hugh A. Doyle Center. The Community Baby Shower was designed to help make a difference in the lives of new families, be it through sponsorships, gifts, or donations.
“We wanted every mom to leave with something, whether it’s meeting another parent or coming out with a piece of knowledge that maybe they didn’t know,” said Kelly Johnson, New Rochelle Youth Bureau Executive Director.
Moms-to-be and new moms were showered with maternal and early childhood resources, as well as gifts, games, food and friendship.
“MOMSROC and empowerYOU being able to partner in presenting the Community Baby Shower shows what community is all about. It’s the beginning of bigger and better community events,” said Jean Anderson, Chairperson, MOMSROC New Rochelle Youth Bureau.
“Empowering and impacting lives is what we are committed to do! We are excited to do so in the New Rochelle Community in Partnership with MOMSROC, as we create new beginnings in each individual we are privileged to serve,” noted Stephanie L. Quarles, Site Coordinator, empowerYOU New Rochelle.
This event was sponsored through the generosity and assistance of Shop Rite, MVP Healthcare, WIC of Montefiore Hospital, Good Plus Foundation and the Strive Leadership Academy.
