NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A member of the New Rochelle Veterans Advisory Committee published a profanity-laced tirade against immigrants and muslims on social media this weekend.
In an incoherent rant posted on Facebook that appears to be a reaction, in part, to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Peter Parente blamed immigrants “invading our homeland” for overcrowded schools. He described muslims in Congress as terrorists.
“They need to not only be stopped, they need to be removed and or de fucking ported,” wrote Parente.
Parente did not elaborate on how “they” should be “stopped”.
In a later comment, Parente said “the fucking cock a roaches need to be exterminated”.
Parente is currently facing criminal weapons charges after police found an unregistered, illegally modified weapon in his home. He recently pled guiltily to two counts of contempt for violating a court order.
“More illegals and refugees running around New Rochelle than we can count,” said Parente. “Our kids can’t even get into the schools because we need to have a lottery system that is rigged!! Home owners children should come first!! These schools are overloaded with privileged immigrants and refugees.”
New Rochelle does not have a lottery system to enroll in public schools. Parente has two children both of whom are enrolled in New Rochelle public schools.
In response to a commenter’s suggestion to “assemble at the boarder armed” and “take care of business”, Parente proposed doing so at the borders of New Rochelle.
Parente was ordered by the New Rochelle court to surrender all of his firearms at his arraignment on weapons charges which are still pending. Parente failed to turn in all of his weapons in New Rochelle. More weapons were turned over to police in Pennsylvania where Parente owns a second home.
Parente took issue with people who do not stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, immigrants who he says overcrowd the health care system and Democrats running for President.
The New Rochelle Veterans Advisory Committee is on the agenda for the City Council Meeting on Tuesday March 12th.
The VAC has proposed the creation of a funded position of Veteran Services Director to “enhance a non-partisan approach toward the veteran community in New Rochelle.”
The VAC has also proposed the City support the creation of a Veteran Service Organization under IRS code 501(c)(19), and under the mandate of the City to allow it to access different pockets of funding for veteran focused programs.
Before taxpayer funds are expended on the VAC, someone in the City government needs to explain how a person who expresses the views recently published by Peter Parente should be part of an organization going into the public schools to interact with the same students he has vilified on Facebook.
The City Manager appoints the VAC Chairman. Each Council Member appoints one person. Parente was appointed to the Veterans Advisory Committee by Council Member Louis Trangucci who is up for election in November against Democrat Martha Lopez.
We have reached out to Lou Trangucci, Martha Lopez, Noam Bramson, the New Rochelle Board of Education and VAC Chairman Brett Morash for comment.
