WESTCHESTER, NY (May 28, 2023) — Members of the Westchester Youth Academy recently paid a visit to the Forensic Investigations Unit of the Westchester County Police Department. The students received a tour of the crime lab and had the opportunity to learn more about Ballistics, Crime Scene and Latent Prints.
Later, the teens were able to meet with members of the Special Operations Divisions and see a variety of SOD equipment, including the Aviation Unit helicopter.
The Westchester Youth Police Academy is designed for high school seniors in Westchester County who have an interest in criminal justice and law enforcement. The Academy is a collaborative effort between municipal police departments and high schools in Westchester who offer full-time internships for students.
