NEW ROCHELLE, NY (April 5, 2025) — New Rochelle Police arrested a 21-year-old man on Saturday after a sting operation uncovered an alleged intimate relationship with a 15-year-old female.
The investigation began at approximately 12:00 p.m. when the minor reported the ongoing relationship to authorities. Detectives were recalled to investigate the allegations, which they deemed serious.
As part of the operation, detectives posed as the minor victim to communicate with the suspect, identified as Alejandro Choflet of New Rochelle. During these exchanges, Choflet expressed his intent to visit the victim’s residence to engage in sexual activity.
Police then set up surveillance near the victim’s home and apprehended Choflet upon his arrival without incident.
Choflet faces charges under New York State Penal Law, including Section 130.25 Rape in the 3rd Degree, classified as an E Felony, and Section 110/130.25 Attempted Rape in the 3rd Degree, an A Misdemeanor.
