NEW ROCHELLE, NY (June 26, 2026) — A New Rochelle man was arrested on June 25 following a police investigation into illegal fireworks sales.
Jushwa Budhu, 25, was taken into custody after New Rochelle Police identified him as a suspect selling $500 worth of dangerous fireworks online. Police arrested Budhu during a transaction and recovered the fireworks involved.
Budhu was charged under New York State Penal Law Section 270.00 for unlawfully selling fireworks valued at $500 or more, a B misdemeanor. He is scheduled to appear in New Rochelle Court on July 7, 2026.
