Talk of the Sound Strikes The Nerve with Exclusive on Sunny Hostin’s Son and His New Lawyer Teny Geragos

Written By: Robert Cox

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (August 14, 2026) — Maureen Callahan, host of the national podcast “The Nerve,” credited Talk of the Sound by name on air for reporting exclusive updates in the trespassing case against Gabriel Hostin, son of ABC “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin, that had not appeared in major mainstream outlets.

Talk of the Sound Publisher Robert Cox was alerted to the mention by a well-known figure in New Rochelle, who messaged Cox via WhatsApp. “Can I tell you how funny it was to hear you being quoted on one of my favorite podcasts? About the Sunny Hostin stuff,” the well-known figure in New Rochelle wrote, later identifying the podcast as “The Nerve.”

During an August 4 episode (31:30 mark), Callahan discussed Hostin’s citation for trespassing near Metro-North train tracks in New Rochelle, the reduction of the charge from a misdemeanor to a violation, and the postponement of his July court appearance to September 15. Callahan told listeners the update on Hostin’s change of legal representation had not been reported by ABC News, People, TMZ, Radar or the New York Post.

“We found this at the Nerve courtesy of a hyper-local news outlet that we believe is digital only called Talk of the Sound,” Callahan said on the podcast.

Callahan then relayed reporting from Talk of the Sound’s July 30 article, later updated July 31, including a statement from Westchester County District Attorney’s Office Director of Communications and Public Affairs Anna Young that Gabriel Hostin was now represented by defense attorney Teny Geragos rather than his mother. Callahan noted that court records still listed Asunción Cummings Hostin — Sunny Hostin’s legal name — as the retained attorney of record.

Callahan described Teny Geragos as a founding partner at Agnifilo Intrater LLP and a member of Sean “Diddy” Combs’s defense team in his federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial. She is the daughter of criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos, whose past clients include Michael Jackson, Winona Ryder, Scott Peterson, Hunter Biden, Colin Kaepernick, Mike Tyson, Jussie Smollett and the Menendez brothers, according to the podcast.

Callahan also referenced an earlier case in which Sunny Hostin and her husband, Dr. Emmanuel Hostin, retained Mark Geragos in a federal RICO and insurance fraud lawsuit filed by American Transit Insurance Company. That lawsuit was later dropped with an apology from the insurance company, Callahan said.

“The Nerve” is hosted by Callahan, a longtime New York Post and current Daily Mail columnist, and is part of Megyn Kelly’s MK Media network. The show launched in 2025 and focuses on celebrity culture, media and true-crime-adjacent stories.

Gabriel Hostin’s case is scheduled to be heard September 15 in New Rochelle City Court.
