NEW ROCHELLE, NY (August 25, 2026) — A 27-year-old New Rochelle man died early Monday after his motorcycle struck a metal bollard surrounding an electrical utility box along Pinebrook Boulevard, police said.
The New Rochelle Police Department responded to a report of a serious motorcycle accident at approximately 12:00 a.m. on August 25 in the northbound lane of Pinebrook Boulevard near the intersection of Beechmont Drive, according to police.
Officers arriving at the scene found that the motorcycle had collided with the bollard, which was located just off the roadway. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.
The passenger, an 18-year-old male, sustained minor injuries and was treated by emergency medical personnel, according to police.
The identities of both the driver and the passenger are being withheld pending notification of family members, police said. The cause of the accident remains under active investigation.
