NEW ROCHELLE, NY (September 17, 2026) — A Yonkers man was charged with felony and misdemeanor cannabis possession after New Rochelle police found approximately 23 pounds of concentrated cannabis and 4.5 pounds of marijuana inside a rental car parked on North Avenue, police said.
Officers responded at approximately 5:25 p.m. to a report of a suspicious vehicle, described as a black sedan with a broken passenger-side window and a man leaning into it. Police said it was initially unclear whether someone had forcibly entered the vehicle or the man was attempting to access his own car.
Officers contacted Joseph Fasce, 22, of Yonkers. Fasce said he did not know how the window had been broken and produced documentation showing that the rental vehicle had been assigned to him, according to police.
During the interaction, officers observed a substantial quantity of marijuana and concentrated cannabis packaging in plain view inside the vehicle, police said. The visible amount was significantly above legal possession limits.
Police said a further investigation determined that Fasce possessed approximately 23 pounds of concentrated cannabis and 4.5 pounds of marijuana. He was detained and told officers that the cannabis was for personal use before he was arrested, according to the department.
Fasce was charged with first-degree criminal possession of cannabis, a felony, and third-degree criminal possession of cannabis, a misdemeanor.
