How to Subscribe to Journalism by Robert Cox

Written By: Robert Cox

A reader recently asked whether articles are only shared on social media or if there’s a way to subscribe by email. That inquiry made me realize the email subscription option for Talk of the Sound had somehow come undone—something that can happen with websites. I reset it, and it is now working again.

Talk of the Sound (free)

You can subscribe to receive new posts by email. The subscription forms on the website (including the pop-up that appears when you scroll a story and the floating button) are now enabled. Signing up is free and does not require a WordPress account.

Words in Edgewise (paid)

If you want the longer analysis, commentary, and additional writing, you can subscribe to Words in Edgewise. That is a separate, paid publication (monthly or annual options). Talk of the Sound itself remains free.

Those are the two primary ways to subscribe. The free email list delivers the daily Talk of the Sound reporting; Words in Edgewise is the paid home for analysis and commentary.

Other ways to follow Talk of the Sound

You can also follow us on Facebook, X, and Instagram, or use RSS if you prefer a feed reader. Posts also appear on Nextdoor. We now have a Talk of the Sound podcast available through the website and our social media channels, with plans to expand distribution soon to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other platforms.

Thanks for reading,

Robert Cox
