NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle Women’s Basketball team threw everything they could at host Pine Manor College in non-conference action Saturday afternoon. The end result, though, was a 77-66 loss.
The host Gators were led offensively by Alexis Lee who notched 28 points shooting an impressive 9-17 from the field and solid 5-11 from three point range and Khiyana Isaac who contributed 13 points to go along with 9 rebounds. The Blue Angels were led by senior Jasmine Brandon (Jersey City, NJ) who netted a game high 30 points while shooting a blazing 12-17 from the field. Freshmen Aaliyah Fields (Hollywood, MD) netted a career-high 17 points.
The Lady Gators defense forced 14 turnovers by the Blue Angels in the first half. CNR shot 34.6% from the field and 14.3% from three point range. PMC shot 37.8% from the field and 27.3% from three point range. The Gators finished the first half up 43-27.
The Blue Angels responded in the second half outscoring the Gators 39 to 36 but the Pine Manor’s strong first half proved to be the difference even though the CNR made a late game push.
The College of New Rochelle shot 44.6% from the field, 27.3% from three and 62.2% from the line. The Blue Angels now fall to 6-11 on the season with their next game January 23rd as they travel to College of Staten Island with a 1pm tip-off
