New Rochelle Man Sentenced to 2.5 Years in Prison for Raping a 7-year-old Girl

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Alexis Colchado-Reyes, 25, of New Rochelle pleaded guilty to Sex Abuse in the First Degree, a class D violent felony, and was sentenced by Judge Barry Warhit on August 19, 2021, to 2 ½ years state prison followed by 6 years post release supervision. Colchado-Reyes’ conviction will require him to register as a sex offender.

Alexis Colchado-Reyes was transferred to New York State Prison from the Westchester County Jail on September 14.

Colchado-Reyes was indicted by a Westchester County Grand Jury for sexual abuse of a child in 2020. He was previously arrested on May 22, 2020, by Mamaroneck Village Police and charged with Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a class D felony, then arraigned on the felony complaint filed in Mamaroneck Village.

He was arraigned before Westchester County Court Judge Susan Cacace on the following charges: Attempted Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, a class C felony, Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a class D felony, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a misdemeanor

On May 19, 2020, the defendant, Alexis Colchado-Reyes, is alleged to have sexually assaulted a 7-year-old child victim. The child told her mother, who immediately called 911. The child victim was taken to the hospital and was seen by a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. After receiving medical treatment, a Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kit was collected and subsequently taken to the Westchester County Department of Laboratories and Research for testing. Later, the victim was forensically interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center.

In May 2019, Alexis Colchado-Reyes, then aged 23, and living in Mamaroneck crashed a car in Scarsdale. While police were questioning him, Colchado-Reyes ran from the officer. When a police officer grabbed him, Colchado-Reyes punched the officer in the face.

Colchado-Reyes was charged with two accounts of assault with the intent to cause physical injury to an officer, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest and false personation. While his arrest was being processed,
