Multi-Agency Task Force Raids Ghost Gun Factory in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (September 28, 2022) — Jose Solano-Gaspar, 24, of New Rochelle, NY was arrested by New Rochelle Police following a months-long multi-agency investigation into the manufacture of ghost guns.

The early-morning raid occurred at a multifamily home located in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue.

Charges:

  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm (2 counts), an E Felony
  • Criminal Possession of Weapon – 3rd Degree (2 counts – extended mag), D Felony

Inventory:

  • 2 fully loaded ghost guns
  • 4 incomplete handguns in the process of being completed
  • 1 loaded AR-15 magazine
  • 9 loaded handgun magazines
  • 5 polymer 80 kits for building ghost guns
  • 3 stun guns
  • Assorted boxes of ammunition.

Police narrative:

On September 28th, 2022 at about 7:30AM New Rochelle Police Detectives, assisted by Detectives from the Westchester County Police Real Time Crime Center and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force executed a search warrant for ghost guns on a New Rochelle home.

This was a culmination of efforts of these agencies over a period of several months after receiving information that a suspect at this home was building ghost guns. This is part of a continuing initiative to combat illegal handguns in New Rochelle as well as Westchester County.
