RYE, NY (August 11, 2023) — A Connecticut man borrowed a phone at a bagel shop then become upset and threw it back before punching an employee.
On Saturday August 5, 2023 at approximately 6:50 am, Rye Police Officers responded to Hand rolled Bagels located at 17 Purdy Avenue on a report of an irate customer. The victim stated that he allowed a customer to use the store phone. When the victim asked for the phone back, the customer became irate and threw the phone at the victim as well as reportedly striking the victim in the head with a closed fist.

Bryce Allen, 26, of Hartford, Connecticut
- Assault – 3, an A Misdemeanor
- Operating a Vehicle w/o Insurance
- Speed Violation: exceed 55 Mph
Allen was transported to Rye Police Headquarters for processing. Allen is due back in Rye City Court on August 22, 2023.
