New Rochelle Murder Trial Enters Fifth Week, With No Verdict Reported

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (October 11, 2026) — The jury trial of Robert Wooten, accused of murdering his girlfriend in a downtown New Rochelle parking garage more than two years ago, is entering its fifth calendar week, with additional court dates scheduled through October 16, according to records maintained by the New York State Unified Court System.

The trial began September 15 before Westchester County Court Judge George E. Fufidio Jr. Court records show 12 scheduled trial dates through October 9, including several adjournments. Three additional dates are listed for October 13, 14 and 16. The publicly available calendar does not indicate how many full days of testimony have taken place or explain the reasons for the adjournments.

Wooten was arrested August 24, 2024, following the fatal shooting of Meisha Williams at One Clinton Park, a 28-story luxury apartment building at 55 Clinton Place in downtown New Rochelle. Prosecutors allege Williams was killed in the building’s parking garage.

Wooten, a Georgia resident, was arrested in Queens following the shooting and subsequently indicted on charges that included second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and burglary. He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecution has been pending for more than two years. Court records document numerous appearances before Judge James A. McCarty III before the case was assigned to Fufidio in June 2026.

The current trial calendar reflects proceedings on September 15, 16, 17, 22, 25, 28, 29 and 30, followed by October 2, 6, 7 and 9. Additional trial dates are scheduled for October 13, 14 and 16.

Several entries specifically identify adjournments, but the records do not provide sufficient information to determine what caused the delays or whether the jury heard testimony on each scheduled date.

Wooten is represented by Angelo Gerard MacDonald, an attorney assigned under the county’s 18B assigned counsel program. He remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The court calendar reviewed October 11 does not report a jury verdict or final disposition of the trial.
